Secret Cove / Nude Beach
Secret Cove is North of the Cave Rock area on the East Shore, tucked away behind a small break in the rock walls of Lake Tahoe. It has an amphitheatre shaped basin of light blue, tropical looking water but dont be fooled, its still chilly Lake Tahoe! There are tons of partially submerged boulders lining the entire small bay and it is an absolute Lake Tahoe hidden gem. Its honestly not that big of a Secret anymore and is heavily trafficked during summer months now. Great spot to pull up on your boat, set anchor and swim to shore. Have fun climbing around on the rocks and taking epic pictures of your crew!
Yes, this is also well known as a nudity friendly beach. While probably not the best place to take your children, its definitely one of the most beautiful hidden coves on all of Lake Tahoe. Feel free to cruise around and lap guests who dont want to jump in the water to shore using our included stand up paddle board. Strong swimmers are fine, feel free to wear a PFD to shore if you want to float in and check out the legendary Tahoe Blue waters! This place is absolutely stunning and a must see if you have the time on your cruise to come by and check it out. Definitely recommend a full day charter to make sure you have the time in your schedule to come to further out locations like Secret Cove.
What To Know Before Renting A Boat On Lake Tahoe
Before you sail out onto the big blue, theres a few things to know about your Lake Tahoe boat rental.
- Be cautious of strong winds and currents. The sheer size of Lake Tahoe makes it prone to the same conditions youd see out at sea! Keep the sometimes challenging conditions in mind as you plan out your day.
- The water is cold. Lake Tahoes surface water temperature hovers around the mid-60s in the summer. While a glacial lake full of snowmelt might be refreshing, clear and beautifulit can also be dangerous for long swims or young kids.
- Do your research! Some rentals charge for fuel and taxes outside of the hourly cost, others come with water toys and rentals included. While all are very, very fun, its worth researching whats included before opting for the lowest price tag.
- Follow the rules. Boat driver under 25? Driving while over the BAC limit? Fishing without a license? With the goal of keeping everyone safe, the Coast Guard actively patrols the lake and will hand out tickets if they catch you doing something you shouldnt. Theres plenty of good, clean fun to be had, so learn the rules before you go, and follow em!

What To Expect For The 2022 Boating Season
Among the improvements we are making to the watercraft inspection process this year is an optional appointment system that will be available for a small convenience fee. Each inspection station will offer appointments in addition to the normal drop-in service. The appointment system will be available at www.tahoeboatinspections.com. Please show up to your appointment Clean, Drained, and Dry.
We also making minimal changes to maintain high standards of customer service. Inspections and decontaminations for non-motorized watercraft are available for free at all stations. Inspections are not required as long as the paddle craft is Clean, Drained, and Dry. Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted at the inspection stations.

Our boat charter begins heading west along the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.
Well pass by Tahoe Keys and Camp Richardson, arriving at Baldwin Beach where you will see Mount Tallac.
Continuing north our next point of interest is Eagle Point. Lake Tahoe is known for its Bald Eagle population, Keep your eyes open for an Eagle Nest.
Our next point of interest is the scenic Emerald Bay. We will cruise pass Fannette Island and make a 15 min stop at Vikingsholm Castle . Public restrooms available.
As we rejoin our cruise north, the captain will set anchor at Whiskey Cove and give you time to enjoy fun in or on the water. Perhaps a swim or paddle board?
