A-1 Scuba & Travel Aquatics Center in Littleton features a 11,000-square-foot facility that includes a pool with an underwater sound system and an endless pool for swimming against a current. The aquatics center offers onsite classrooms, scuba classes, escorted dive vacations, and more.

We Emphasize Excellence Fun And Adventures
ScubAmerica is ALL ABOUT enabling people to enjoy and experience the amazing underwater world. To fulfill this mission, we provide thorough instruction for kids and adults from entry-level NAUI Open Water Diver to Advanced Diver. We also provide specialty training in Nitrox, Diver Rescue, and Diver First Aid. Then, we like to take them diving to beautiful diving locations in order to provide our divers with lifelong memories and the desire to experience more. We encourage divers to be lifetime learners pertaining to the Adventure Sport of Scuba Diving, and we provide continuing education and experiences to enable them to learn and dive safely. Along with EXCELLENCE of instruction, we emphasize the FUN of Scuba Diving and the THRILL of seeing amazing things.
ScubAmerica includes two dedicated NAUI dive instructors: Dennis Catron and Ken McCracken. Dennis was trained by Ken in 1982, and is now a professional diver. Ken teaches excellent courses in Garfield County, Colorado and in and around Beaufort, South Carolina. Dennis teaches high-quality courses in south Florida. Both of them accompany divers on their multiple dive trips each year.
How Long Does It Take To Get An Open Water Certification
There are four required open water certification dives to complete your Open Water course, and they can be completed in as little astwo days! Where? There are several options to choose from, all listed below. Once Part 2 is completed you will be a certified SCUBA diver and your certification will be valid for life!

Underwater Connection in Colorado Springs offers a 15-foot-deep, indoor, heated pool with a real drop off. They teach scuba courses, from basic to professional levels, and host classes on snorkeling, freediving, technical diving, spearfishing, kayaking, swimming, and stand-up paddle boarding. They even offer introductory sessions at a low price for those with no experience.
Scuba Diving Requirements In Colorado

The state of Colorado does not require that a diver obtain his or her scuba certification to go diving. However, any seasoned diver will tell you it is best to get certified for your own safety and for the safety of your fellow divers. Most companies that offer scuba diving charters and transport require divers they are taking out to be certified, or to dive with one of their professional divers.
The state has a few other regulations for both people going scuba diving and those operating vessels in the vicinity of divers:
- Divers must use a red flag with a diagonal white stripe when submerged
- All dive flags must be visible from 100 yard away
- Scuba divers must stay within 100 feet of their dive flag
- Boaters and other vessels are required to stay at least 100 feet from a dive flag
